Increase in Election Expense Limit
The expense limit for candidates has been increased this year. 15 lakh for the position of president in Class A municipal council, an increase of 10 lakh for the position of member. For Class B council, 11 lakh 25 thousand for the position of president, and an expense limit of 3 lakh 50 thousand for the position of member has been set. In Class C municipal council, 7 lakh 50 thousand for the position of president, and an expense limit of 2 lakh 50 thousand for the position of member has been set.
A limit of 6 lakh has been set for the presidency of the municipal council and 2 lakh 25 thousand for the membership. A website has been developed for voters. It has a search facility. Voters can search for their name and polling station. A mobile app has been created for voters. Through it, voters will also get information about the voter list, polling station, and candidates, as stated by the State Election Commission.
